Self esteem problems and the fear of sleeping outside of the child’s normal home are just two of the symptoms that can occur when the underlying issue of the child’s bed wetting is not addressed. The parents and the child must both display a great deal of patience and invest a lot of time to attempt to resolve this difficult issue and avoid a social problem that could potentially last for years.

The first thing to do with a bed wetting child is to take them to their family doctor to rule out the unlikely occurrence of a serious medical problems. Most bed wetting is perfectly normal but taking the child to a doctor will ensure that the child is developing normally.

The goal of any bed wetting strategy is to get the five year old child to wake up and go to the bathroom on their own. One way to get started with this is to use a bed wetting alarm. This alarm will wake the child from a deep sleep cycle, one that they might normally not wake from to use the bathroom. Over time this continued training and getting used to waking during the night to use the bathroom should enable the child to wake up on their own to use the bathroom at night.

Its easy to question your own parenting skill sin this situation, but rest assured this is not the cause of the problem.

It is important that the children don;t go to bed with a full bladder, so excessive beverage consumption before bed tie should be avoided.

Also to be avoided are caffeinated beverages as these have a diuretic affect.

Obviously bed wetting is a very emotional issue for the children as well as the parents. The child will most likely be ashamed of their bed wetting episodes and care must be taken by the parents to show kindness patience and love. Any signs of anger or impatience at this stage will further embarrass and stress the child and will be of no help with resolving the underlying problem. Encouraging the building of their self esteem and positive reenforcement will both help the child break this habit more quickly.

Medicating the child or changing their diet to help with bed wetting should not be done without direct approval of the child’s doctor. Doing either of these things can increase the child’s stress level and might have an adhere affect on the child’s bed wetting problem.

Its is quite common for boys to continue bed wetting for longer than girls. For example, most girls have broken this habit by the time they are 4 years old, whereas with boys it is far more common for them to still be bed wetting at this age. Due to these differences between the sexes, its important to carefully consider all factors when deciding on a strategy to handle bed wetting.

Some of the more serious causes of bed wetting for girls in this age group is irregular sleep cycles, under developed bladder muscles and some serious illnesses. All three of these possible underlying causes should considered by a doctor before starting a treatment program for bed wetting.

Nocturnal enuresis is diagnosed in many children who see their family doctor with bed wetting by the age of 5 years. Once diagnosed the doctor should be able to help the family with strategies to help avoid the extra work and frustration involved in bed wetting at this age.

It is easy to call into question your own parenting skills when a child suffers from bed wetting, although its important to remember that its rarely your fault

The causes of bed wetting can be many and varied from physical to psychological causes.

Although frustration, irritation and to some extent anger, are normal reactions to a child’s bed wetting, these emotions must be shielded from the children who are already only to aware of the shame and embarrassment associated with their bed wetting. The children are probably feeling as bad as the parents about the bed wetting, and anything that makes them more nervous or stressed will only exacerbate the problem.

The parents of a bed wetting four year old has many tools at their disposal to help with the problem. One of these tools is a bed wetting alarm that breaks the sleep cycles that are typically responsible for the problem. The alarm works by waking both the child and the parents so that bed wedding can be dealt with more quickly, so the child can sleep in a more comfortable and hygienic environment. The other benefit of being woken up is the ability to establish a pattern of waking up to use the bathroom during the night.

Another tool available is diapers and plastic sheets that help to limit the amount of cleanup required in the middle of the night due to bed wetting.

Lupus Nephritis is one of the causes of adult bed wetting. Due to the nature of both Lupus Nephritis and adult bed wetting, care should be taken to evaluate all possible causes of the bed wetting before coming to the conclusion that it is caused by Lupus.

Adult bed wetting is not something that should ordinarily happen. At the same time, adult bed wetting does not need to be caused by anything as serious as the auto immune disease Lupus Nephritis, there can be many underlying causes particularly conditions involving the kidneys and or bladder. To diagnose Lupus Nephritis requires a thorough analysis. Whatever the cause adult bed wetting is indicative of a problem.

A doctor should always be consulted if you or a loved one suffers from adult bed wetting. This is certainly not a normal situation, and generally indicates that something is physically wrong. It is also important to not that this type of bed wetting cannot normally be cured by behavioral modification alone. Behavioral modification is generally only used on bed wetting for children.

Urination can be controlled with medication if the underlying cause of the bed wetting is not considered to be one of the other causes, but is in fact caused by Lupus. Whilst medication will help, there are also some other products that might make your life more bearable whilst the bed wetting episodes continue. One of these products is a bed wetting alarm that is specifically designed to help you wake up and use the bathroom before a bed wetting scenario occurs. If bed wetting does occur, the use of adult diapers can also help to save the burden of all the extra laundry that would normally occur. These products may not reduce the embarrassment of bed wetting, but the can limit the uncomfortable aspects.

Its is important to keep your thoughts positive especially with a condition like Lupus. Low self esteem will creep into your work and family lives if you let it, so its important to keep the low self esteem and depression at bay.

As with any condition of this nature, keeping a positive mental attitude will help you deal with the problem. If you let the condition get the better of your emotional wellbeing as well as your physical well being it will just make it that much harder to treat.

Its difficult to deal with adult bed wetting at first, but as you learn to deal with both the cause and the underlying symptoms it becomes easier over time.

After an initial consultation with your doctor, they will most likely reveal to you that the episodes of adult bed wetting are inevitable. And whilst this is generally the case, alternative medicines and alternative therapies such as hypnotherapy can also be used to deal with the symptoms of Lupus induced adult bed wetting.
